Matthew makes his mark

Coventry and North Warwickshire’s young defender Matthew Kettley was part of a team which triumphed in a national tournament.

The 17-year-old Henry VIII student competed in England Hockey’s Futures Cup as part of the Mercia Lynx under-18s team which won the final of the tournament with a 3-2 win over Wessex Leopards at Cannock HC.

The Futures Cup is a four-day tournament which sees the best 72 players in a particular age group divided into four teams based on their geographical location.

The tournament aims to give players experience of what it is like to compete at a major tournament with all games filmed and analysed.
