Warwick Junior Tournament Success
Posted by Martin Lingard on 8 November 2015
The U10s had a six year old, two seven year olds and two players brand new to our club in our team. We narrowly lost every match but competed well. There were some good individual performances and some promising signs for the future.
The U12's won their tournament, winning all 5 of their games, scoring seventeen goals, conceding only one, despite not having a goalie and no subs until the penultimate match, when 7 year old Yuvi Singh came on near the end for his older brother and scored!
Yet again, the U14s came a very close second, losing out on winning due to an inferior goal difference, they again finished the tournament undefeated. Winning two and drawing two, they played some superb flowing hockey.
Thank you to everyone involved today, particularly to the coaches, Aidan, Andy & Ricky, and a special thank you to Amar & Hari Gill who turned up to organise us & support, despite Hari being injured.
Thanks also to the parents who turned up to support the club and most importantly to our fantastic kids, you're the reason our coaches and parents turn out to these events.
The thing I'm enjoying most this season, at Badgers matches, Junior Tournaments and Senior games involving our younger players, is seeing the rapid pace of development & improvement of these kids. I think Andy Hodges and his team deserve a lot of praise for this.
The next tournament is at Edgbaston, December 6. Why not come along to help & support & see us try to do even better?!
