One of Coventry’s longest established sports clubs is looking to recruit new members.
Coventryand North Warwickshire Hockey Club, which was established in 1895, is searching for new male and female players of all standards.
The men’s first team plays in the highest tier of Midland’s hockey and is looking for high standard players to help them in their push for National League status, while the ladies and other men’s sides are seeking players of all abilities.
The club, which is based at the Westwood Club and Reading Rooms, on Westwood Heath Road, operates four men’s and two ladies sides as well as junior and badgers teams.
David Kettley, chairman of Coventry and North Warwickshire Hockey Club, said: “The London 2012 Games really whetted the public appetite for hockey and with many students now beginning, or returning to, university there has never been a better time to attract members.
“We are looking for players of all abilities from international standard to juniors and I would encourage anyone who is interested to get in touch.
“Anyone who has been inspired to pick up a hockey stick for the first time, or dust the cobwebs off their old kit is more than welcome to get involved with the club.”
