CNWHC takes on cancer charity challenge

First team player Ed Benfield and six others with CNWHC connections are set to undertake an epic bike journey to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support.
As many of you know, cancer has affected members of the club either directly or indirectly in recent years, so please take a moment to read the message below from Ed and offer any support you can.
“In two weeks time - seven past and (almost) present Coventry and North Warwickshire Hockey players are mountain biking across England.
“The team consists of me, Hedd Roberts, Adam Sudale, Matthew Haynes, Ashley Garratt, Stuart Colegate and Neville Clements. We believe that Nev is the oldest man to ever take on this challenge and his one massive ear will really slow him down; so even going downhill is going to make this a big challenge for him.
“You might want to also spare a thought for us all - spending six days with Colgie is probably going to be our biggest challenge and definitely worth a few quid!!
“The route we are taking is not an easy one - it takes in a lot of the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors and will result in over 24,000 feet of going up hill - much of which will be more carry bike than ride bike.
“Both Hedd and I have suffered from cancer and Macmillan cancer support was a major factor in both of us getting through the ordeal.
“If you could sponsor us I would be most grateful - you can find out more details about our story and Macmillan Cancer Support on my website: www.justgiving.com/Edward-Benfield
“It will only take 2 minutes. Many thanks in advance, Ed.”
