CNWHC AGM round-up

Coventry and North Warwickshire Hockey Club held its AGM on Tuesday, April 30.
One of the main issues which arose during the meeting was the confirmation that the club intends to relocate to Coventry University Sports Ground, on Westwood Heath Road, in time for the 2013/14 season.
Other major changes were the appointment of the first female chair in the club's 118-year history as Charlotte Lea was voted into the position after previous incumbent David Kettley stepped down.
The club would like to place on record its thanks to Dave for his hard work supporting the club in the role over the past four years.
Another major change included the appointment of Simon Gilbert as Club Captain for the men's section, while Nat Abel will continue in the role of Club Captain for the women's section.
The need to find a willing senior player or parent to take responsibility for the club's thriving junior section was also discussed and will be addressed again at the next committee meeting.
On the playing front, Ben Clarke stepped down from the position of Men's first XI captain and will be succeeded by Sam Clarke. I'm sure everyone will support Sam and wish him the best of luck in his new role.
The club is also pleased to announce that the ladies have appointed Emma Thomas as their new first team captain.
The second team is yet to make an appointment. The men's second XI will be skippered by Kevin Hackleton following his brief sabbatical, while Pip Cox and David Sewell have kindly agreed to continue in their respective positions of third and fourth XI captains.
Cat Bell and John Slatford will also continue as Club Secretary and Treasurer respectively. Bernadine Cox has agreed to continue as men's Fixture Secretary while Steve Cox will also carry on with his Membership Secretary responsibilities.
